Why does my Redragon Phantom Pro K629-CGO keyboard have connection issues with both cable and bluetooth modes?
I own a Redragon Phantom Pro K629-CGO mechanical keyboard, which is a variant of the K629 model. It supports three connection modes: bluetooth, 2.4g dongle, and cable USB-C. However, recently I have encountered some problems with the cable and bluetooth modes.
When I use the cable mode, the keyboard disconnects randomly after a few minutes of use. The LEDs turn off and I hear the USB disconnection sound on Windows. It reconnects only when I press a key, but there is a noticeable lag before the keyboard becomes responsive again. Sometimes the keyboard does not connect or stay connected at all, and the LED indicator flashes yellow. This happens regardless of the USB port I use, and whether the keyboard is connected directly to the motherboard or not.
When I use the bluetooth mode, the keyboard does not pair with any device. The LED turns blue for a second when I switch to the bluetooth mode, but then nothing happens. I cannot find the keyboard on any bluetooth device list.
I have tried the following troubleshooting steps, but none of them worked:
I used the "reset" feature of the keyboard by pressing FN+ESC, as instructed by the manual.
I tested the keyboard on two different computers, with the same results.
I unplugged all other USB devices from my computer, to rule out any power draw issues.
I changed the settings on the device manager, to prevent the computer from turning off the USB devices to save power.
I also want to mention that I spilled some apple juice on the keyboard a month ago, but I cleaned it immediately and it did not affect the keyboard's performance until now.
I
would appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to fix this issue. Thank you.
